Values for those born in Portugal correspond to those born outside Germany with Portuguese nationality (the only data available), which may include those born in a country other than Portugal. There being no record of coutry of birth, this is the closest indicator of "Portugal as the country of birth" among residents in Germany.
The 2018 total population value was rectified by the entity responsible and amended by OEm on 14/04/2022.

Metadata
Note The incoming flows include the number of foreigners born in Germany in the year in question; only those entries that comply with the criteria of the Central Register of Foreigners, which omit movements of a temporary nature, are considered.
The values of Portuguese inflow into Germany in 2017 are inflated due to registration problems in the years of 2015 and 2016. Most of the entries registered in 2017 actually occurred in those two previous years. According to information from the German Central Register of Foreigners, of the 16,325 entries registered in 2017, only 7,095 occurred in that year. The remaining 9,203 entries occurred in previous years, but were only recorded in 2017. The values of this indicator for the years of 2015 and 2016 are, therefore subcontracted. The values for this indicator for the years 2014 and 2016 are therefore subaccounted for, those for 2017 are inflated and neither the growth between 2016 and 2017 nor the decrease between 2017 and 2018 are real.
The values from 2019 to 2021 were rectified by the entity responsible and amended by OEm on 15/05/2023.

Note The value of the Portuguese total in this table may not correspond to that in table "A.4 Foreign inflows" for reasons of confidentiality applied at source.
The values of Portuguese inflow into Germany in 2017 are inflated due to registration problems in the years of 2015 and 2016. Most of the entries registered in 2017 actually occurred in those two previous years. According to information from the German Central Register of Foreigners, of the 16,325 entries registered in 2017, only 7,095 occurred in that year. The remaining 9,203 entries occurred in previous years, but were only recorded in 2017. The values of this indicator for the years of 2015 and 2016 are, therefore subcontracted. The values for this indicator for the years 2014 and 2016 are therefore subaccounted for, those for 2017 are inflated and neither the growth between 2016 and 2017 nor the decrease between 2017 and 2018 are real.
The incoming flows include the number of foreigners born in Germany in the year in question; only those entries that comply with the criteria of the Central Register of Foreigners, which omit movements of a temporary nature, are considered.
The values from 2019 to 2021 were rectified by the entity responsible and amended by OEm on 15/05/2023.
