Portuguese Emigration 2025

Characterization of the Portuguese emigration and the emigrated Portuguese population based on a diverse set of national and international data and sources. Data referent to 2024 and the period 2000-2024 (or latest available years).

This report had the support of the Office of the Secretary of State for Portuguese Communities (GSECP - Gabinete do Secretário de Estado das Comunidades Portuguesas) and the Directorate General for Consular Affairs and Portuguese Communities (DGACCP - Direção Geral dos Assuntos Consulares e das Comunidades Portuguesas). The Emigration Observatory and the Migra Network were the entities responsible for its elaboration, within the framework of CIES-IUL of the ISCTE-IUL. Partially integrated into the seventh annual report on Portuguese emigration under the responsibility of the Office of the Secretary of State for Portuguese Communities.
