Note The concept of resident population refers, by the OFS, to permanent. 1. The values up to 2009 for those born abroad and in Portugal correspond to individuals born outside Switzerland with foreign and Portuguese nationality, respectively (it is not possible to have the variable 'country of birth' per country, only by category 'outside and within the Switzerland'); 2. As of 2010, the values for those born abroad correspond to those born outside Switzerland; 3. The previous values for foreigners were revised in 2010 by the local statistics institute and started to includ, also according to the definition of the concept of permenant resident population, asylum seekers who have been living in Switzerland for 12 months or more. 4. The values of those born in Portugal were reviewed by the Office Fédéral de la Statistique in June 2015.
