After a 34.1 per cent increase in Portuguese arrivals in Sweden in 2022, in 2023 there was a further increase of 25.8 per cent, reaching the highest number of arrivals since 2000. Over the time series under analysis (2000-2023), Portuguese emigration to Swedish territory had a maximum value in 2023 (688 entries) very different from the 69 entries recorded in 2000 (minimum value of the series under analysis). However, Portuguese emigration to Sweden still represents a very small fraction of both immigration in Sweden (0.7%) and total Portuguese emigration (less than 1%).
