Giuseppe Formato is a Senior Lecturer at Lesley University (USA), where he teaches Portuguese, Italian and Cinema. In 2018, he obtained his PhD in Educational Studies: Adult Learning and Development with a thesis on The Impact of Language Variety and Motivation on Language Acquisition in Adult Heritage Learners of Portuguese. He was a Camões Fellow at the Consulate General of Portugal in Boston where he worked on projects to disseminate the Portuguese language. He is also a visiting researcher at CIES-Iscte where he is developing a post-doc research project on Heritage Learners' Portuguese.
