Emigration to the Netherlands reaches new peak in 2018
According to data from the Centraal Bureau voor de Statistiek, 2,400 Portuguese entered the Netherlands in 2018. This Dutch agency accounted for a total of 210,917 foreigners entering the country, with the Portuguese accounting for 1.1% of this total. +

For the third consecutive year, the number of Portuguese arrivals in the Netherlands increased (+12.8% in 2018). With this growth, a new maximum of Portuguese entries into Dutch territory was reached in 2018 during this century. Throughout the time series under analysis (2000-2018), Portuguese emigration to the Netherlands had a minimum value in 2005, with 830 entries, and a very strong growth between that year and 2008. A slight decrease between 2013 and 2015 was replaced by continuous growth in the following years.
