Portuguese inflow into Sweden reaches new high in 2016
Inês Vidigal
There were 380 Portuguese who entered Sweden in 2016, according to Statistics Sweden. That Swedish agency accounted for a total of 163,005 entries of foreigners into Sweden, and the Portuguese represented 0.2% of that total. +

Since 2000, the number of Portuguese inflow into Sweden has increased almost continuously, being more pronounced in 2012. Over the period under review, there have been two small declines: the first in 2007, the second in 2010. In 2012, by contrast, there was a large increase in the number of entries, reaching, for the first time, numbers above 300 in emigration to Sweden. In 2016, the maximum peak of the series was exceeded, with 380 entries of Portuguese in the Swedish territory.
