Emigration to Denmark decreased by 32% in 2016
Inês Vidigal
There were 642 Portuguese who entered Denmark in 2016, according to data from Denmark Statistik. That Danish agency accounted for a total of 72,179 entries of foreigners in Denmark, and the Portuguese represented 0.9% of that total. +

Between 2004 and 2015, the number of Portuguese entries in Denmark registered a continuous increase, more pronounced and significant as of 2010. During this period, there were two small declines: the first in 2008, when entries decreased by 3%, and Second in 2010. As of 2011, there was a large increase in the number of entries, reaching for the first time in 2015, numbers over 900 in the emigration of Portuguese to Denmark. In 2016, there was a marked drop in Portuguese inflow, by almost a third (-32%), a decrease that accompanied a drop in the total number of foreigners in that country, although less abrupt (-5%).
