Portuguese inflows into Belgium are the highest since 2013

According to OECD data, 3,529 Portuguese entered Belgium in 2021. That international organisation accounted for a total of 121,386 entries of foreigners into Belgian territory, with the Portuguese accounting for 2.9% of that total. +

After 2020 saw a decrease in the number of Portuguese entering Belgian territory, largely explained by the effects of the pandemic on restricting mobility, 2021 saw an increase, reaching the highest number of entries since 2013. Between 2000 and 2021, the number of Portuguese entering Belgian territory was lowest in 2000 (1,324 entries) and highest in 2013 (4,332 entries).
