After having interrupted in 2021 the decreasing trend that had been seen since 2019, in 2022 the number of Portuguese arrivals in Sweden increased by 34.1%, reaching the highest number of arrivals since 2000. Over the time series under analysis (2000-2022), Portuguese emigration to Swedish territory had a maximum value in 2022 (547 entries) very different from the 69 entries recorded in 2000 (minimum value of the series under analysis). However, Portuguese emigration to Sweden still represents a very small fraction of both immigration in Sweden (0.5%) and total Portuguese emigration (less than 1%).
