Portuguese inflows into Andorra reaches minimum in 2020
Inês Vidigal
According to data from the Andorra Department of Statistics, 232 Portuguese entered Andorra in 2020. This agency accounted for a total of 2,619 foreigners entering the country, with the Portuguese accounting for 8.9% of immigration in that year. +

In 2020, Portuguese inflows into Andorra reach the lowest value of the entire series under analysis, having registered a very sharp decrease that was higher than that registered in the total of foreign arrivals in the country (-46.5% and -30.7%, respectively). After a peak in 2005, Portuguese emigration to Andorra fell abruptly between that year and 2014 and has since remained stable at comparatively low levels. In 2008, Portuguese emigration to Andorra fell the most (-54%), reflecting the abrupt and profound nature of the real estate crisis in Spain. In the last four years, the number of Portuguese entries in Andorra had been increasing very slightly, exceeding the level of 400 per year in 2019. Despite the decrease in 2020, the Portuguese were the third nationality that registered the most entries in Andorra.
