Portuguese inflow into Sweden decreases for the first time since 2010
Inês Vidigal
In 2019, 401 Portuguese entered Sweden, according to Statistics Sweden. That Swedish agency accounted for a total of 115,805 foreign entries in Sweden, with the Portuguese accounting for 0.3% of that total.+

Countering the trend of the last eight years, in 2019 the number of Portuguese entries into Sweden decreased slightly (-6.1% than in the previous year). In 2018 the number of Portuguese emigrants entering Sweden had reached the highest value of this century (426 entries), very different from the 69 entries recorded in 2000 (minimum value of the series under review). However, Portuguese emigration to Sweden still represents a very small fraction of both immigration in Sweden (0.3%) and total Portuguese emigration (less than 1%).
