Carlota Moura Veiga
There were 443 Portuguese who entered Italy in 2016, according to Eurostat data. That European agency registered a total of 300,823 foreign entries in Italy, with the Portuguese accounting for 0.2% of that total. +

The number of Portuguese inflow into Italy has fluctuated annually throughout the time series under analysis, having 2002 been the year with the lowest number of entries, with 297 Portuguese, and 2007 the year in which there was a higher value, with 594 entries. The downward trend seen since 2012 was interrupted in 2016, with the number of Portuguese entries in Italy returning to the 400-entry barrier in a year. However, Portuguese emigration to Italy continues to represent a very small fraction of immigration into this country (0.1%).
