Small increase in the number of Portuguese entries in the Netherlands in 2016

1,961 Portuguese entered the Netherlands in 2016, according to data from the Centraal Bureau voor de Statistiek. That Dutch agency counted a total of 199,091 foreign admissions in the country, with the Portuguese representing 1% of this total. +

After a sharp increase between 2005 and 2008, there was a stabilization of the number of Portuguese entries into the Netherlands, with oscillations around 2,000 people per year, only interrupted by a one-off fall of more than 20% in 2010. The highest value of the series under analysis was recorded in 2013, with 2,079 new entries. After two consecutive years of slight deciding, in 2016 there was a slight increase of 5% in the number of Portuguese entries into the Netherlands.
