Inês Vidigal
According to data from the Office Fédéral de la Statistique, in 2014 15,221 Portuguese arrived in Switzerland, 4,818 less than in the previous year. The official statistical department accounted for a total of 161,149 foreign inflows into Swiss territory that year, with the Portuguese representing 9% of that total. +

Since 2010, the number of Portuguese entries in Switzerland has been increasing continuously, being 2014 the first year in which there was a decrease in the flow. The peak of emigration to Switzerland in this century occurred in 2013 with 20,039 entrances.

Maintaining the number of inflows in France registered in 2012, Switzerland will become the third destination country most chosen by the Portuguese emigrants, after the United Kingdom and France.
