Portuguese emigration to France rebounds in 2024

There were 8,088 Portuguese people who entered France in 2024, according to Eurostat data. This European institution counted a total of 438,626 entries of foreigners in France, with the Portuguese representing 1.8% of this total. +

Following the decline recorded in 2023, Portuguese emigration to France increased again in 2024 (+8.9%). These data confirm France as the third main destination country for Portuguese emigrants in 2024, after Switzerland and Spain. Portuguese emigration to France recorded a maximum of 19,658 entries into French territory in 2012 and a minimum of 5,998 entries in 2020. In ten years, the weight of Portuguese entries in France went from 5.6% in 2013 to 1.8% in 2024.
