Portuguese inflows into Spain are the highest since 2008

There were 11,554 Portuguese who entered Spain in 2023, according to data from the National Institute of Statistics. This Spanish agency accounted for a total of 1,250,991 foreigners entering Spain, with the Portuguese accounting for 0.9% of this total. +

After a small decline in Portuguese arrivals in Spain in 2022, there was an increase in 2023, reaching the highest number of entries since 2008. Over the time series under analysis, Portuguese emigration to Spain had a minimum value in 2000 (2,955 entries) and a maximum value in 2007 (27,178 entries).
