Portuguese emigration to Austria registers small decrease in 2023

In 2023, 778 Portuguese entered Austria, according to Statistics Austria. That Austrian body accounted for a total of 181,568 entries of foreigners into the country, with the Portuguese representing 0.4% of immigration in that year. +

After the growth registered in 2022, in 2023 Portuguese emigration to Austrian territory registered a small decrease (-2.4%). Over the time series under analysis (2002-2023), the number of Portuguese entering Austria had a minimum value in 2004 (266 entries) and a maximum value in 2013 (878 entries). However, Portuguese emigration to Austria continues to represent a very small fraction of both immigration to this country (0.4%) and total Portuguese emigration (less than 1%).
