United Nations, ECLA: online data base on the investigation of international migration in Latin America and the Caribbean (IMILA)
Provides, without restrictions, online access to a database of the 1980/01 to 2010/11 census about the immigrant stocks in Latin American and the Caribbean countries. It’s organized by the Economic Commission for Latin America (ECLA) of the United Nations, through the Latin-American and Caribbean Demographic Centre (CELADE). The search results in the database can be downloaded in several formats, including Excel. +

Description

Information, by country of residence, about the immigrant population by country of birth.

Source: national census.

Time period: 1980/81, 1990/91, 2000/01 and 2010/11.

Geographical scope: Latin-American countries and the Caribbean.

Included variables: gender, age, marital status, number of children, time of arrival, five-year prior residence, educational level, labour status, activity sector, occupation. The possible crosses between these variables are predefined.

Confidentiality limitations: there are only available values for the stocks of immigrants superior to 500.
