Inês Vidigal
There were 618 Portuguese who entered Austria in 2017, according to Statistics Austria. That Austrian agency accounted for a total of 139,329 entries of foreigners in the country, with the Portuguese representing only 0.4% of immigration that year. +

Throughout the time series under analysis (2002-2017), the number of Portuguese entries in Austria had a minimum value in 2004 (266 entries), went through a period of intense growth between 2009 and 2013, the year in which it reached the highest value (878 entries), fell sharply between 2013 and 2014 (-34%), stabilizing since then, with oscillations, around the 600 emigrants. In 2017, it increased 10%. In relative terms, Portuguese emigration to Austria continues to represent a very small fraction of immigration in this country (0.4%), as well as total Portuguese emigration (less than 1%).
