Following the decline observed in 2024, Portuguese immigration to Switzerland decreased again in 2025, with the number of entries falling by 7.8% compared with the previous year. This trend forms part of a broader reduction in immigration to the country, which declined by 4.6% over the same period. As a result of these combined dynamics, the share of Portuguese immigration in total entries fell to 6.3%. Even with the decline in 2025, the number of Portuguese entries remained above 11,000, a level that, after being reached regularly until 2015, was not observed between 2016 and 2022, having only been regained in 2023. Between 2000 and 2025, the minimum number of Portuguese entries into Switzerland was recorded in 2000 (4,311 entries), while the maximum was reached in 2013 (20,039 entries).
