In 2025, Portuguese emigration to Andorra increased markedly by 39.7%, reversing a five-year trend of consecutive decline. This increase was also reflected in a recovery in the relative share of Portuguese citizens in immigration to Andorra: Portuguese citizens accounted for 4.3% of the total in 2025, compared with 3.2% in 2024. After a peak in 2005, emigration to this country fell sharply between that year and 2014, remaining stable at comparatively low values since then. In 2008, there was the largest drop (-54%), reflecting the abrupt and deep nature of the property crisis in Spain.
