Graça Índias Cordeiro
Graça Índias Cordeiro is Professor at Iscte – University Institute of Lisbon and a researcher at CIES-Iscte. With extensive experience in teaching and research in urban anthropology and ethnography, Lisbon has been one of her primary fieldsites, and more recently the Boston area, where she has examined the local meanings and transformations of the label “Portuguese.” She is currently engaged in collaborative research with Giuseppe Formato on the Azorean diaspora in New England and is a member of the project EXPORT – Exporting Portugal: Estado Novo Cultural Diplomacy and Rebranding Strategies in the United States, 1933–1974 (ICS/FCT, 2025–27).
