About the speakers:
 
Alba Vázquez-López is conducting her doctoral thesis at the University of A Coruña (Spain) on the issue of transnational care in rural contexts in Galicia. She holds a degree in Social Education from the University of Vigo (Spain), having studied for a year at University College Lilebaelt (Denmark). She completed the two-year Gemma Mundus Master's program in Women's and Gender Studies at the University of Granada (Spain) and the University of Utrecht (Netherlands), an excellent program funded by the European Commission. At the same time, she has worked throughout her professional career in the field of intervention with women, families, and migrants in various countries.
 
Maria João Oliveira is an Assistant Researcher at the Institute of Sociology of the University of Porto (IS-UP) and is currently involved in the Northwest Social Observatory project (IS-UP). She holds a bachelor's degree (2009) and a doctorate (2014) in Sociology, specializing in Inequalities, Culture, and Territories, from the Faculty of Arts of the University of Porto (FLUP). Her research interests include migration, religion, and processes of inclusion and social development, with a special focus on vulnerable populations and/or those at risk of social exclusion.
