Conference Cycle | Migration in Portugal: Dynamics, Challenges and Policies
From 4 February to 11 March, a series of conferences entitled 'Migration in Portugal: Dynamics, Challenges and Policies', will explore the challenges and opportunities presented by emigration and immigration to society, the economy and public policies. Promoted by the Lisbon Academy of Sciences, this series will bring together researchers, policymakers and representatives of civil society, including Cláudia Pereira, the scientific coordinator of the Observatório da Emigração, on 18 February.

  • 25 February: ‘Work, immigration and economic development: between structural needs and inequalities’ - João Peixoto, ISEG-University of Lisbon
  • 4 March: ‘Migration, demography and territorial cohesion: challenges for development’ - Maria Lucinda Fonseca, ACL; CEG-IGOT, University of Lisbon
  • 11 March, round table: ‘The future of migration in Portugal: policies, governance and scenarios’ (hybrid format, 2.30-5 p.m.)
