Slight slowdown in Portuguese emigration to Spain in 2024
There were 11,332 Portuguese who entered Spain in 2024, according to data from the National Institute of Statistics. This Spanish agency accounted for a total of 1,288,562 foreigners entering Spain, with the Portuguese accounting for 0.9% of this total. +

Following the increase recorded in 2023, Portuguese emigration to Spain shows a slight decline in 2024 (-1.9%). Nevertheless, flows remain at a high level: since 2021, the number of Portuguese entries into Spanish territory has consistently exceeded 11,000 per year, despite annual fluctuations. Over the time series under analysis, Portuguese emigration to Spain had a minimum value in 2000 (2,955 entries) and a maximum value in 2007 (27,178 entries).
