After a slight decrease in 2023, Portuguese emigration to Andorra fell more sharply in 2024 (-26.6%). This reduction mirrored the overall decline in immigration to the Andorran territory (-24.1%). After a peak in 2005, emigration to this country fell sharply between that year and 2014, remaining stable at comparatively low values since then. In 2008, there was the largest drop (-54%), reflecting the abrupt and deep nature of the property crisis in Spain. In recent years, the number of Portuguese arrivals in Andorra had been increasing very slightly. The recessionary trend in recent years has resulted in a relative loss of importance of Portuguese immigration: if in 2007 the Portuguese represented 34.9% of migrant entries in Andorra, in 2024 they represented only 3.2%.
