After three consecutive years of growth, Portuguese emigration to the Netherlands registered a slight decrease in 2024 (-2%). It is worth noting that the decline among Portuguese nationals was smaller than the overall decrease in entries into the country (-6.3%). As a result, the relative weight of Portuguese migrants in total entries increased in 2024. Portuguese emigration to the Netherlands had a minimum value in 2005, with 830 entries, and a very strong growth between that year and 2008. A slight decrease between 2013 and 2015 was replaced by continuous growth in the following years, with the maximum value of the series to be recorded in 2023, with 4,892 entries.
