Questioning of the existence of structural racism in Portugal - which has been reffered recently by CERD/UN reports ans various social movements - has brought longstanding demands back onto the political stage in the context of significant social inequalities in Portuguese society.
This event aims to add international and historical perspectives to the debate, bringing similar concerns from scholarship in France and Brazil to bear on the Portuguese case.
